Of course, working with our team is a lot of fun! But besides that, we wanted to share more about what it’s like to work with an interior designer and explain more about what interior design is. Many people think that interior design is picking wall colors and throw pillows. While this is definitely part of our job, it is actually a small part of what we do.

What Does an Interior Designer Do?

Working with a certified interior designer means that every design aspect of your home or office is mapped out to be both functional and aesthetic. After an initial discovery call, our team starts the process of gathering information and working on an initial plan. We will send you an in-depth questionnaire and ask you to put together a Pinterest or Houzz idea board so we can get an idea of your style. We’ll then put together our design style concepts and present them to you and get your approval. This will include the general look and feel we are going for with your space including color palettes and images for inspiration.

Once the design styles are approved, it’s time for us to get to work! Our team will begin space planning and a complete design plan with everything from furniture placement to light fixtures to finish samples. Of course, we welcome your feedback and will make revisions accordingly. When everything is approved, we will work out the pricing and proposals and communicate with your contractor to ensure best use of space. While the work is being done, our team will make regular site visits to make sure there is proper placement of finishes. We are also there to problem solve any unforeseen issues that may come up.

After that is done do we go in to put those finishing touches that we all love to see on Instagram. We work with your builder and architect from the initial building plans to installation to make sure everything is just how you envisioned it, and hopefully even better. When we say From Plans to Pillows®, we truly mean it!

What is it Like to Work with an Interior Designer?

You may enjoy watching home design shows, and for a good reason, they are fun to watch. However, that may not be entirely realistic to what it’s like to work with an interior designer. When you work with an interior designer, it’s really important to make sure that it’s a good fit and within your budget. This is why we offer an extensive “get to know you” consultation so that we can ensure it’s a good fit for both the client and our design team. Whole home renovations and custom builds can take a year (or longer), so you really want to make sure you’ll work well together with your designer.

What Makes Trade Mark Interiors Different?

Here at Trade Mark Interiors we use both interior design and psychology backgrounds to be able to better understand client needs, manage multiple perspectives on a project and design interiors that have a positive impact on mood and functionality.

Our team also works collectively on each project, so you are getting different perspectives and ideas. This especially comes in handy when problem solving. We also truly love what we do and exceeding our client’s expectations.
