Well, we did it!
We brought Kristin’s primary suite design dreams to life in just 8 short weeks for our One Room Design Challenge. While it wasn’t always smooth sailing: missing bed hardware, backordered bedding, and a delayed dresser; we still made it happen.

The color story and design style to prep for our 8-week one-room challenge design!

The Color Story

We started with our color story & design style. Kristin wanted to keep a neutral base in her primary suite blended with pops of color throughout; curating a chic and refined space of comfort and relaxation.

Flooring Selections

First up in the transformation process was flooring. 9″ cork-backed luxury vinyl plank for this project.

The coloration was a perfect transition from Kristin’s existing tile in the main area. A few reasons we selected this flooring type were: no grout lines, easy to install, and durable!
We could not believe how quickly and efficiently they had the new flooring installed! We loved how they turned out.

Next up was paint and the selection Kristin decided on was Sherwin Williams Greek Villa which paired so beautifully with not only her flooring but also made the MAIN statement piece of her room, this stunning piece from LeftBank, totally pop!

Let There Be Light!

After the fresh coat of paint, we updated the ceiling fan and added some gorgeous new sconces. One trend that we have been loving lately is a plug-in sconce with an exposed cord.

Not only is it a convenient way to add more lighting to a space, it also adds a pop of texture and visual interest. During this challenge, we were limited with timing, so the most functional solution for additional ambient lighting was to incorporate these textured, plug-in sconces.

In just 8 short weeks, we updated the flooring, wall, and ceiling color, and added in new light fixtures, furniture, area rug, and accents – a full refresh!

Final One Room Challenge Design Reveal featuring Gus!

“It finally feels like a space that I’m proud of and can come to relax. Obviously, my favorite feature is the artwork 😊 but, there’s nothing in here that I don’t love! From the additional storage pieces to the reading nook all the way down to the sheets, everything turned out better than I could have imagined!”
