Up in the gorgeous mountains of Highlands, North Carolina sits the most stunning respite town. Highlands has the most delicious restaurants, fabulous shopping, and a stunning cultural arts scene. It also happens to be home to one of our most recently completed new projects #themountaincottage
For The Mountain Cottage Project, we wanted to create a cozy retreat for our Sarasota-based clients. A place they could enjoy the beautiful mountain views all from the comfort (and warmth) of their new home. Our designers were inspired by the beautiful backyard and mountain views to create our color story to kick off our design. Our client’s individual style was able to shine through the family heirlooms they brought along with them. Utilizing these heirlooms allowed us to create beautifully curated spaces.
During the process of designing their home, we really loved being able to source all of the rich textures for this design – something we don’t often get to do. We wanted to ensure that every detail (even down to the heated Primary bathroom floors) tied together our warm and cozy aesthetic.
Our design team was able to create more intimate seating areas layered with chenille, velvet, and fur and grounded with warmer wood tones.
The design idea behind this space is really to allow it to to grow with the family. The goal was to be somewhere that our clients can bring their future grandchildren to, while still being able to enjoy the same level of comfort and appreciation for both the old and the new.
