Meet the Designers:
- Casey – If Casey had to sum up her design philosophy it would be a belief in the importance of reflecting oneself in their personal space. Growing up amongst creative thinkers, it was no surprise that Casey would also gravitate towards a creative field. Design came naturally to her, leading her to pursue a Bachelor of Interior Design at Miami University (Ohio).
- Jessie – Jessie grew an eye for design through her younger years while her mother custom-built waterfront properties in sunny Sarasota. Her love for design flourished when she moved to Lubbock, Texas to pursue a Bachelor of Interior Design at Texas Tech University and minoring in architecture. Her experience started with a luxury design-build firm and continued into commercial construction and architectural drafting. Now she is following her passion in luxury residential interior design.
- Christina – Christina always knew she wanted to be a professional in a creative industry. So, she pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design at Philadelphia University. At the very beginning of her career, she was a luxury residential interior designer working in NYC. She took a brief stint in the hospitality industry, designing restaurants and hotels. Now Christina finds herself back in luxury residential interior design, marrying luxury hotel design into every residential oasis.

Q1: What inspires your design approach?
Casey: To sum up my design philosophy it would be a belief in the importance of reflecting oneself in their personal space. Everything in your space should bring happiness to your life.
Jessie: Design approaches can be inspired by a variety of factors, including cultural influences, personal experiences, nature, and historical references. Many designers draw inspiration from their surroundings, client preferences, and the functionality of the space they are designing. Experimentation, innovation, and staying abreast of current design trends are also common sources of inspiration.
Christina: When designing a home, I’m usually inspired by the architectural style of the home, nature and infusing the client’s aesthetic and way of living.
Tracee: My design approach begins with the client. I look very carefully at what their needs are, what the function of the space is and what their desired aesthetic is. Outside of that, we’re really inspired by all kinds of things around us; travel, nature, history and the environment of the home that I am designing. All in all – inspiration comes from a lot of different places, but it’s most importantly centered around the client and their needs.
Q2: How do you approach integrating technology into luxury design?
Casey: Technology is intended to make life easier and more seamless. First is figuring out clients’ comfort level and then educating on how the use of technology can positively affect their daily life
Jessie: Integrating technology into luxury design involves balancing functionality, aesthetics, and cutting-edge innovation. Smart home systems, automated lighting, and state-of-the-art appliances can enhance the luxury experience. However, it’s crucial to seamlessly integrate these technologies into the overall design, ensuring they enhance rather than detract from the overall aesthetic.
Christina: Technology is becoming a key feature in luxury homes. I use it to seamlessly connect all the functional aspects of the home from automated window shades, lighting, audio, and security features on main control panels that can be located anywhere in the home.
Tracee: Wow, integrating technology into luxury design has been a really wonderful thing in our world. So first and foremost, I love to use 3D renderings for all my projects. This allows the client to jump into their room and see everything that we’re doing before it’s even done. 3D technology has really made a big difference in our industry and in my personal relationships with my clients. Additionally, we’re just currently dipping our toes into the world of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and figuring out how to really bridge the gap between AI and what we do as creatives to make our spaces that much better.
Q3: How do you incorporate sustainability into luxury design?
Casey: We have a focus on sustainable vendors at Trade Mark. Our preferred vendors put an emphasis on sustainable manufacturing practices. It’s important to know and understand where and how our furniture is manufactured.
Jessie: Sustainability in luxury design involves using eco-friendly materials, adopting energy-efficient practices, and considering the environmental impact of every design decision. This might include sourcing materials responsibly, reducing waste, and incorporating renewable energy solutions. Sustainable luxury design aims to create beautiful and functional spaces while minimizing the ecological footprint.
Christina: Materials and finishes are evolving constantly in the way they are made and affect the environment. I try to be conscious of the materials I select and what they are made from. I also try to limit the use of vinyl.
Tracee: Incorporating sustainability is very important part of our process here at Trade Mark Interiors. It’s one of our goals for this year and moving forward into the years ahead. I primarily like to recycle repurposing items, so if you have a beautiful piece of upholstery, I would love to give it new life! I also love to source vintage items to add character into your home. Secondly, we’re really narrowing down our vendor lists so we’re working with vendors who are very responsible in their manufacturing and delivery processes!
Q4: What is your advice for homeowners looking to infuse a touch of luxury into their living spaces?
Casey: Lighting and Layers. It is important to have different levels of lighting (overhead, lamps, even candles) to create different moods. Layering tactile elements create visual interest by blending color, textures, and materials.
Jessie: For homeowners looking to add a touch of luxury to their living spaces, it’s important to focus on quality over quantity. Invest in timeless and high-quality furniture and materials. Consider unique and personalized design elements, such as custom-made pieces or artwork. Pay attention to details like lighting, textures, and finishes, and aim for a cohesive and curated look throughout the space. Ultimately, the key is to create a space that reflects the homeowner’s personal style and preferences while incorporating elements that evoke a sense of luxury and sophistication.
Christina: I always love to incorporate marble into the design. It adds a touch of elegance and timelessness that really elevates the space.
Tracee: If you want to just bring a little bit of luxury into your living spaces – look at materials around you. So, think of pillows, cozy blankets, fabrics and materials that are soft and speak luxury can really make a difference in your home. You can also do this by replacing light fixtures, bringing in some sparkle, gold or textures! By elevating the materials in the jewelry of your home, it makes a big difference and allows you to bring a little bit more luxury into your space.
